Knights Antiques is owned by Simon and Louise Knight; this unique business is located in the internationally
renowned town of Henley on Thames, famed for its rowing regatta and festivals.
Located 25 miles from the centre of London and only 30 minutes away from Heathrow airport, the shop combines
the ageless beauty of Persian Tribal and Village rugs and carpets; with the unique style of English country furniture
and Folk art from the period 1600 - 1800.
The rugs and carpets; all personally selected by Simon Knight, range from fine antique tribal rugs from the Nomadic
tribes of Persia; such as the Qashqa'i, Khamseh, Afshar, Lori and Baluch. There are also, always a number of
antique Turcoman and Caucasian weavings on display in the gallery where over 50 rugs are hung for easy viewing.
The very best of contemporary weaving from Iran is also displayed, with all rugs and carpets made using traditional
techniques, hand spun wool and natural dyes. Rugs from the Kashkuli and Lori weavers are exhibited along side
village rugs from Bidjar, Bakhshaish, Senneh and many other traditional carpet making villages.
Our Country furniture represents the British tradition for using locally grown timbers such as Oak, Elm, Ash, Beech
and Walnut in the manufacture of functional furniture for use in country houses, farm houses and cottages. The
timeless nature of these timbers allows the furniture to be used in today's modern environment bringing warmth,
colour and beauty into any home. A large collection of English and continental pewter is always available; with a
good choice of plates, measures and unusual items.
The combination of country furniture and tribal rugs together in a warm and friendly setting makes Knights Antiques
unique and a gallery to visit if you are searching for that special item for your home.
