Description
Size: 5ft 2in x 1ft 7in (158 x 48cm)Antique Ersari Turkmen torba of unusual design, possibly by the Turkmen of Beshir.
Circa 1900.
A good Ersari Turkmen torba with an unusual design on a rich red ground, note the clear yellow and ivory used throughout. These weavings are often considered to be dowry weavings as they were used to decorate the camel during the wedding procession.
The torba is in excellent condition with slight wear and good pile, it has a soft floppy handle.
Hand washed and ready for display.
